Bulls in Aoyama 3: VCARB and Yuki Tsunoda

It's a massive shame that my favorite team is now called 'RB' and seems to have lost all of its identity to become just Red Bull Racing 2 effectively, but it's still my fav team so of course I had to visit Aoyama to shoot their show car when they made it available for a limited time.

Naming the team weirdly wasn't enough -- they added this strange white on their color palette and made what could have been the best livery on the grid what I had to rate 2 out of 10 in another blog post.

They should have just brought back the Toro Rosso livery, or made up something entirely new!

While the color scheme makes no sense to me, it's still really good to have this silver bull with metallic blue in the background.

As I enjoyed myself among other visitors of Honda Welcome Plaza Aoyama and took photos of this show car, people came donwstairs and started removing the fence around it...

... which enabled me to take this kind of pictures without any obstacles blocking the view.

But as soon as I relized they were doing this to do some video shooting, I thought 'terrible timing!'

They set up fancy tripods and cameras around the car, getting ready for filming.

After minutes of waiting, the object of the filming came downstairs, who turned out to be none other than the only Japanese driver on the grid, Yuki Tsunoda!

So what I thought was a terrible timing turned out to be not terrible at all, as I was lucky enough to be there to shoot some photos of this talented racing driver without having known it was going to be possible.

After they finished the filiming, it was back to business as usual.

The underfloor has some interesting details when closely looked at.

The top of the driver's seat was covered with what appeared to be a piece of paper for some reason.

Did they think someone would try to sit in it?

Appreciating the color combination of blue and silver.

Nice to have you back, mini-bull on the nose!

The 'shouldders' of this generation of cars are okay, but I have to say I prefer the previous ones, like those from the time of 2018-2021.

Brake ducts are particularly interesting to look at.

I can't even imagine how much cash is spent on designing these things.

One pic that made me particularly happy is this:

We rarely get to see the bottom of nosecones of Formula 1 cars.

Front wings got much simpler than those on the previous generation of cars, but they're still fun to take a close look at.

Overall, I can be pretty happy with what I managed to shoot in a few hours in Aoyama.

On my virtual to-do list was going back to a very nice vegan restaurant called Sojo and enjoying a meal, but on my own, for the first time.

I'd never visited the place without my vegan friends (if it's okay to call them friends), so it was a nice change, reading Richard D. Ryder and having a quiet, late lunch.
