Japanese Translation of 'An Antinatalist Handbook' 1st Edition Has Been Completed!

As already announced on a news post on the AAPJ website, the Japanese translation of 'An Antinatalist Handbook' 1st edition has been completed so its Japanese version is now available to read on the handbook's official website! šŸ™Œ

I started taking part in this project just as an individual, thinking I'd have no trouble getting it done, but things kept me unexectedly busy and the progress hadn't been as great as I wanted.

This Japanese version couldn't have been published before the end of 2021 without the help of those at the Translation Department of the AAPJ and Peter, and I really appreciate their work and time they put into this project.

We, at the Translation Department, aim to get Excuses #31-45, which are the additional content of the 2nd edition, and Excuses #46 and onwards, ready to be published in the near future.

The introduction was lost when co-authors Lawrence and Laith stopped distributing the handbook as PDF files to make it entirely website-based, but it said this:

In our time as antinatalists, both of us have found ourselves in situations where we havenā€™t known how to respond to an excuse someone has put forward for procreating; whilst we knew it wasnā€™t a valid moral justification, we couldnā€™t quite form a coherent rebuttal. So, weā€™ve scratched our heads and put our brains to work (and asked our friends) to come up with a list of some of the most common excuses we hear from natalists, and a response to each of them.

As it said, this handbook is designed to make it easier for antinatalists to refute natalists' excuses for procreation, but I'm sure those natalists would also find this book quite helpful in their attempt to understand what antinatalism is about.

I strongly reccomend giving it a read regardless of your position.

If you come up with any excuses for procreation that are not on the handbook yet, please let me know.

I'll contact the co-authors.
