Top 10 Recommended Podcasts in 2024

Updated: Jul 11

Hello, my fellow painient consciousnesses!

It's been some years since I became a regular listner to podcasts.

If I remember correctly, it must have been the launch in 2018 of Beyond The Grid, an official podcast of Formula 1, that made podcasts an important part of my life.

The memory of Lewis Hamilton being the very first guest in Beyond The Grid is clear, so yes, it must have been it.

In this blog post, I'll list my top 10 favorite podcasts that I listen to regularly.

10. The Race F1 Tech Show

Episode Length: medium-long

Language: English

A sister podcast to The Race F1 Podcast, hosted by Edd Straw and Gary Anderson.

In each episode, they answer questions sent by The Race Member's Club members, so you can enjoy learning what you don't necessarily expect each time you find a new episode on your feed.

9. Talking Bull

Episode Length: short-medium

Language: English

The official podcast of what is now the most dominant team in F1, Red Bull Racing, hosted by Nicola Hume.

It doesn't get a new episode very often, and when it does, I'm reminded that I'd been subscribed to this series.

If you're a fan of RBR, this is a must listen.

I particularly enjoy the part where all the guests take on HP Poly Challenge 😊

8. F1 Explains

Episode Length: medium

Language: English

A podcast hosted by Katie Osborne and Christian Hewgill, where listners send questions and F1 experts answer them.

This may seem like a podcast for new fans, but it's nice to re-learn what we already (feel like we) know from experts on this pod, and sometimes I'm surprised to learn something I never knew before despite having followed F1 for nearly a decade.

I particularly love the Irish accent of Bernie Collins, who appear on the show from time to time as a guest.

What I don't understand is the name; I get why they had to change the name 'Formula Why,' but why is it now 'F1 Explains' instead of 'F1 Explained?'

F1 Explained sounds a lot more natural to me.

Is it not the case for natives?

7. The Exploring Antinatalism Podcast

Episode Length: long

Language: English

Every episode guarantees you meet a guest (or guests) who work(s) on something related to antinatalism in some form, regardless of their agreement or disagreement with the position, and they engage in an in-depth conversation with arguably the best-known antinatalist on this planet, Amanda Sukenick.

How Amanda finds a guest for an episode every month from this tiny planet always impresses me.

Since this podcast is a relatively long-form one where the host and the guests can really dive deep into the topic, when it has a great guest, the episode turns out to be really, really interesting and intriguing.

6. VoidCast

Episode Length: long

Language: English

Perhaps one of unusual podcasts on antinatalism hosted by two antinatalists, Lenny and Carlos.

They don't only talk about the ethical position or social movement of antinatalism, but also dedicates their episodes to a variety of artworks like films and novels.

This is probably the only podcast I subscribe to that is hosted by non-native speakers of English language.

5. F1 Nation

Episode Length: medium

Language: English

The podcast that deals with the most up-to-date stuff out of all official pods of Formula 1.

Regular presenters Tom Clarkson, Natalie Pinkham and Damon Hill are joined by guests for each Grand Prix that is taking place at the time, and give us previews and reviews on the race weekend, as well as reacting to and analysing some of breaking news, like Hamilton joining Ferrari and Newey leaving Red Bull.

4. F1: Beyond The Grid

Episode Length: long

Language: English

Beyond THe Grid hosted by Tom Clarkson is the very podcast that made me a consumer of the media of podcasts.

Similarly to The Exploring Antinatalism Podcast, the host gives an in-depth interview with a guest for each episode, who has been deeply involved in F1 as a driver, and engineer, a team principle, or something else.

This podcast has a great track record (I guess this sounds odd but anyway) of sometimes entertaining me much more than anticipated, with an F1 legend from the '80s that I hardly knew.

I know any F1 fan would listen to this with or without my recommendation, but I'll recommend it here anyway.

3. The Antinatalist Advocacy Podcast

Episode Length: medium-long

Language: English

The AAP, hosted by John Williams and Lawrence Anton, is probably the most inspiring of all the podcasts that I listen to.

If you are a painient consciousness who supports antinatalism and wants to contribute to making actual changes to the outside world, I strongly recommend you to listen to this pod.

It gives you wings if you're open to being given wings.

It's like energy drink for antinatalists, if that makes sense.

2. P1 with Matt and Tommy

Episode Length: short-medium

Language: English

The main source of content from P1, the venture started by Matthew Gallagher amd Tom Bellingham, the ex-co-hosts of WTF1.

If you're an F1 fan and don't have this on your feed... what the hell are you doing?

This podcast invites you to sit alongside with Matt and Tommy, who are just like the rest of us, fans of this amazing sport, and enjoy our time as F1 fans together.

This is probably the podcast that makes me laugh the most often.

1. The Race F1 Podcast

Episode Length: medium

Language: English

This and P1 competed for P1 (no pun intended) on this list of my favorite podcasts, but I chose this for P1 just based on vibes (sorry P1).

On this podcast, Edd Straw, Scott Mitchell-Malm, Mark Hughes, and Ben Anderson deliver incredibly high-quality F1 news, sometimes with guests onboard.

Scott is always fun to listen to, and rare jokes Mark makes out of nowhere are extremely funny.

I hope the fact that I rank this higher than all the official F1 pods tells you something!
