Rating 2024 F1 Liveries from 0 to 10

Updated: May 13

There we have it, with Red Bull Racing launching their RB20, the launch season is over!

It means we have all 10 liveries (11, technically; Alpine has their pink livery like last several years) to rate before the start of the new 2024 season.

Let's see how each of F1 teams has managed to please my eyes.

HAAS: 1/10

Just an extremely midfield-ish, boring livery.

Haas has the least unique color scheme in the first place, and they did nothing extraordinary with how they use it when applying it onto their car.

They should have simply kept the same livery as last year if they were not going to change the colors, then I probably would have given it 4 or something.

At least that one made those boring colors look good!

VISA CASH APP RB: 2/10

What a shame!

I have to give the livery of my favorite team 2 out of 10.

What they should have done is simply bring back the old Toro Rosso livery from 2017-2019.

This new livery has horribly inconsistent white/red belts and too many colors (white should go in my opinion), ruining what could otherwise have become one of the best liveries on the grid.

STAKE: 4/10

They've done something very, very different, both from their past-self and the rest of the grid, which is what I like the most about this livery.

However, I'm not a huge fan of how they placed green on carbon black.

With a slightly more sophisticated way of doing it, I would have given it a higher rating.

I like having it on the grid though.

Nice to have distinct, unique colors.

ALPINE: 5/10

People seem to hate this livery for having too much black of exposed carbon, but I actually feel like Sean Bull Design did a great work dealing with tough limitations given by the team.

The livery has different shades of Alpine blue and BWT pink, and I think it will

(1) allow viewers to tell them apart from the rest of the grid more easily than they would if Alpine simply placed a single shade of blue/pink on however many percent of their body work, and

(2) simply make this livery much more aesthetically acceptable.

WILLIAMS: 6/10

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Williams has kept the basic concept of their livery from last year and I imagine they are keen to continue this way for the foreseeable future.

If it were up to me, I would avoid using plain white for deviding different blue colors and probably used very light blue instead, saving pure white for sponsor logos and car numbers.

But this livery isn't ruined by any means.

I like it.

McLAREN: 7/10

This livery somehow makes the carbon black not disturbing at all compared to Alpine and Stake.

I imagine getting rid of that horrendous blue, and keeping the livery mostly two-tone did the magic here.

When you look at this livery, you can notice any of the orange bits comes in contact only with black, keeping all colors that could otherwise be disturbing (mainly Chrome logo) contained in black spaces.

This livery will make me even prouder to be a fan of Oscar Piastri this season!

FERRARI: 8/10

I am so very close to giving it a 9!

What keeps me from that, I think, is the way they painted the halo.

It the halo had been kept unpainted, I may have given it a 9, but overall, this livery is very, very lovery and I'm a fan of it.

RED BULL: 9/10

The prime example of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

There's really not much to say about this iconic livery.

What caught my attention insted is the crazy shape of those sidepods and engine cover; they look so much like last year's Mercedes!

MERCEDES: 9/10

What a beauty!

They've done a perfect job combining silver and black.

This livery truly gives the vibes that the brand of Mercedes-Benz deserves, which their 2023 livery failed to do in my opinion.

The W15 is certainly going to be one of the best-looking cars on the 2024 grid.

ASTON MARTIN: 10/10

If I could, I would give it 10 million out of 10.

This is the definition of perfection.

Yes, they've done some weight saving by exposing some carbon black here and there, but even that is done in a manner which makes me feel like I prefer it to their 2023 livery with almost full paint on it.

This livery deserves some on-track results, like wins and regular podiums... do we even dare to dream about a title fight?

We'll see.
